The Philippine Nurses Association of America Foundation (PNAAF) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that undertakes continuing professional education, research, and development programs in support of the aims of the Philippine Nurses Association of America, and health and well-being for all.

Purpose

PNAAF is pleased to present its second collaborative international conference, “Building Capacity for Evidence-Based Practice”, in collaboration with the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing VI, to be held on February 6-8, 2013, at the L’ Fisher Hotel (www.lfisherbacolod.com), Bacolod City, Philippines. The purpose of this multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral 3-day conference is to offer an opportunity to increase competency in building capacity for evidence-based practice in the areas of health promotion, disease prevention and control, treatment and care of major life style concerns and diseases such as physical activity, obesity, alcohol and tobacco misuse, aging, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, kidney diseases and depression.

Featured Speakers

International, national and local resource persons with research, policy, practice, educational, consumer and/or managerial expertise in the health and related fields would be featured speakers.

Breakout group sessions

Concurrent sessions would present papers grouped by topic.

Call for Abstracts

Researchers and practitioners from various disciplines in the academic or health care settings are invited to submit an abstract to the Conference. The call for abstracts would open on Monday, July 16, 2012. Submissions will undergo peer review. The submission deadline is Monday, October 15, 2012.

Continuing Education Contact Hours:

PNAAF is an approved continuing education provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # 14134. 20 contact hours would be awarded to nurses who completely participate in the conference.
